Welcome, Solo Travelers!

Hi there! I’m Taia, the founder of Go Solo, and I’m beyond excited to share my story with you. If you’ve ever dreamed of traveling on your own but felt unsure about where to start—or if you’re already a seasoned solo traveler looking for fresh inspiration—then you’re in the right place.

Go Solo isn’t just a travel concierge service; it’s a community. It’s about helping women (and eventually men too) step outside their comfort zones and explore the world on their own terms. But before Go Solo became a reality, it was a dream that came from my own experiences.

The Start of a New Chapter

Before solo traveling became such a big part of my life, I was navigating a huge life transition. The end of my marriage marked the close of my "old life," and I found myself embarking on a journey to rediscover who I really was. It wasn’t always easy, but I knew it was time to focus on what I wanted and the dreams I had pushed aside for so long.

Honestly, I felt a mix of relief and fear. On one hand, I was so relieved to be free from a life that no longer served me, but on the other, I was scared. I was stepping into something totally new, and doing it alone felt both exciting and daunting. It felt like I was on the edge of something big, ready to leap into the unknown.

That’s when solo travel entered the picture. It wasn’t something I planned—it just called to me. Booking my first solo trip felt like jumping off a cliff, but it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

The Birth of Go Solo

Over the years, I’ve met so many women who’ve told me they’d love to travel solo but don’t know where to start, or they’re concerned about safety, planning, or simply being alone. That’s when Go Solo was born.

I want every woman to experience the peace and fulfillment I felt standing at the top of the Santa Ana Volcano. It’s not just about visiting new places—it’s about reconnecting with yourself, gaining confidence, and realizing you can do anything.

While I’m excited to create a space for men to feel welcome as well, Go Solo is primarily about offering women a place to feel supported and encouraged to be brave, bold, and unstoppable. I want every woman to discover the courage to step out of her comfort zone and see how truly capable she is.

Go Solo is here to guide you through that journey—whether it’s a quick getaway or an extended adventure. It’s more than just planning travel; it’s about helping women take the leap and create the life they deserve.

How It All Began

In 2019, I took my first solo trip to Jamaica. It was an incredible experience and the start of my journey as a solo traveler. But it wasn’t until 2022, when I ventured to El Salvador, that everything truly changed.

El Salvador wasn’t your typical all-inclusive Caribbean getaway. It was raw, vibrant, and full of adventure. One of the highlights was climbing the Santa Ana Volcano, standing at 7,812 feet. It was estimated to take five hours, but thanks to my fitness routine (shoutout to my personal trainer at the time!), I made it in just three.

At the top, I was filled with a sense of peace and accomplishment that I had never felt before. I looked out over the stunning landscape, and realized that this moment wasn’t just about reaching a peak—it was about how far I had come in life. That was the moment I realized I could do anything. Standing at the top of that volcano was a true affirmation of my strength and resilience.

A Little About Me

When I’m not creating personalized travel itineraries or discovering new destinations, you’ll likely find me sipping on coffee (Wawa, of course!). Although, embracing my Jamaican roots, I’m shifting to more of a tea drinker these days. I love spending quality time with my family and I’m thoroughly enjoying my life as a new Floridian. The beach is my happy place, where I feel at peace. And here’s a fun fact: I enjoy the buzz of airports—a fitting love, considering my passion for travel and new adventures!

Why Go Solo Matters

Solo travel is about more than just visiting new places—it’s about taking control of your own journey. For me, solo travel gave me the confidence to make a big leap: moving to Florida. I knew I was going to make the move, but solo travel made it easier. I moved to a place where I had no family, and it was the confidence solo travel gave me that made the transition smooth and exciting.

That’s what Go Solo is all about—helping others embrace the freedom that comes with traveling alone. It’s about stepping outside of your comfort zone, finding yourself, and realizing how strong you truly are.
